The web marketers exploit embedded logic

In the wake of plethora of websites catering to identical products and services, the competition to attract traffic is getting graver and tougher. And why not, the incoming qualified traffic determines the net presence of any website, which in turn is decisive to the sites over all turnover. Each website is vying for better ranking in Google and Yahoo search engines.
Studies have suggested that more than 80% of the net users approach various search engines to narrow down to websites containing relevant content. And maximum of these users consistently entrust Google with the task, only followed by Yahoo and MSN respectively. Thus, Google and Yahoo are the most prominent targets for seasoned web marketers in their quest for higher rankings in SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages).
In order to achieve higher ranking, Web Marketers exploit the embedded logic behind higher rankings in Google - the pioneer in Search Engine technologies. According to one of the logics, Google rates web pages on the basis of incoming links as it evaluates them as votes of confidence in favor of the web page. Web marketers vie for maximum quality incoming links to the target website, while also making sure to not to delve into link farming. Link farming, which means being listed at a website dedicated to creating links to other sites for improved search engine rank, may eventually render the marketed website banned altogether on the search engine.
To achieve inbound links, SEOs (Search Engine Optimizers) employ many strategies, including buying links, inviting links, setting up reciprocal links or trade links with other businesses and even hire special link-building firms. The endeavors require a substantial marketing budget, as the site needs to buy links from certain directories, including Yahoo, for a specific duration; or appoint a special link-building firm. The invitation for links at times borders on spamming itself, which is harmful for the over all reputation of the site and discouraging too. Reciprocal links also have their con that implies vice versa outbound link to another website and valuable loss of qualified web traffic.
These SEO (Search Engine Optimization) stunts require a handsome marketing budget, which may prove to be too expensive for a small business on web. But there is no need to be hopeless. There is a unique SEO strategy, which solves many purposes simultaneously. Relatively economical and easier, Article Marketing, is an innovative means of web marketing. Article Marketing involves posting of information-based articles on other websites, forums, blogs and ezines for free. These articles are strictly revolving around the subject of the site itself.
Writing these articles is beneficial for the site from marketing point of view, as the site gets to attach a short bio and link back to itself in the resource box that appears at the end of the article. The knowledgeable nature of the articles submitted helps in establishing the site as an expert of the field. Obviously impressed by the flaunted knowledge and expertise, the readers click on the link of the site and amount to lead generation with progressive circulation of articles across hundreds of ezines and forums lead to increased site traffic and eventual improved search engine rank.
Thus, Article Marketing achieves the desired goal in a unique and effective way, like none other. In fact, article marketing is so popular that there are software packages and websites dedicated to help sites syndicate their articles easily to hundreds and even thousands of other sites

Small Business Marketing Advice: Becoming a Clever Cat in a Dog-Eat-Dog World

There are many ways to draw new customers to your business as well as promoting your products to previous customers. Even though there are many types of marketing and endless types of direct mail advertisements, one cost-effective way to attract new customers is to use a wallet mailer.
While a Wallet-Mailer appears similar to normal wallets, it can be used to distribute advertisements, sale offers, and coupons for your firm. They can be sent through the mail or handed out, depending on your distribution needs. If they include only a few items, they can often be mailed for as little as the cost of a first class stamp, making them very cost effective. Wallet mailers take their name from their shape, which mirrors a pocket wallet. Your company logo, contact information and message will appear on the inside flap. The interior of the wallet is usually filled with coupons, printed advertising material, or even coupons designed to look like fake money. The wallets can be fastened with clear stickers, which will prevent them from opening during shipping without detracting from your advertising design.
This unique mailer has a high response rate compared to other direct mail pieces. If the message inside of the wallet is printed in red ink the typical response rate is twice as high. You can print you own inserts for the mailing after you purchase the wallets, or you can turn the entire project over to the company.
If you plan on printing your own advertising material, you can purchase blank wallet mailers and coupon sheets in any quantity that you desire. Printing on blank wallet mailers and coupons sheets is a simple procedure that does not require any specialized equipment. The mailers and sheets are flat, and can be printed on any standard laser printer.
A new business needs successful ads to survive, and to thrive. Small businesses are especially vulnerable because they don’t have a big budget for multiple ad experiments. To catch the consumer’s eye, use wallet mailers instead of the same tired standard mail campaigns that they might ignore.
Existing businesses can benefit from wallet mailers as well. By mailing current and previous customers promotional material, you can increase your return customer rate. You can also attach wallet mailers to your products, so that people who purchase goods from you will receive coupons along with their order. This simple and inexpensive act can prompt return customers to your company.
One of the best direct mail ideas is the wallet mailer. New and established companies can prospect for additional customers by utilizing advertising and mailing campaigns. The wallet mailer will be unique enough that the average consumer that receives it will take notice. This will create a successful promotional campaign, and provide additional sales opportunities.
To learn more about the wallet mailer, visit Wallet-Mailer.com.

6 Guaranteed Marketing Tips

Here are 6 tips to improve your Web marketing efforts, based on my
Guaranteed Marketing system of cost-effective, results-producing methods.

1) Why buy from you? Use a unique selling proposition (USP)
Doing business without a USP is like doing business without pants — you’ll
be just as successful.

In his EXCELLENT book “The E-Myth Revisited,” Michael Gerber writes that
when they see or hear your business name, people should say: “Oh, you’re
the guys who _____________.”

Fill in that blank with your USP.

I was fortunate enough to do online marketing support for FedEx for two
years before starting my own business. I learned from the best about the
importance of standing apart from your competition with a USP.

This is the most important strategic planning you can do for your small
business. If you take the time to devise an effective USP, you’ll separate
yourself from 95% of the competition, who probably compete on price,
service, or selection.

===

2) Follow-up works!
You WILL maximize your online sales by following up with your existing
prospects and clients.

a) Today, I got a new client 60 DAYS after she first called my Yellow Pages
ad. I put here in GoldMine and she replied to the SEVENTH email sent to her.

Takeaway: follow up by email at least 5-7 times with prospects, offering
new info each time, with a gentle reminder that you’re still available to
serve them. Use a contact manager, such as GoldMine or Act 2000. Or, use a
free autoresponder like GetResponse (http://www.guaranteedmarketing.com/get)

b) Another new client just paid for my services TWO YEARS after subscribing
to my ezine.

Takeaway: you must publish a newsletter and gather email addresses from
visitors to your Web site. This is like printing money. Use listbot.com or
another service to distribute your ezine.

===

3) Keep your Web site instructions simple.
A confused customer will just say NO to your Web site and your business.
Here are 4 methods that have worked for me online since 1995:

a) Number and letter your instructions (I’m doing now!)

Tell them: “You can order in 3 easy steps,” them limit yourself to 3 (or
however many) steps … and make those steps EASY.

b) Tell them it’s easy.

Words like, “easy,” “fast,” “quick,” and “simple” work wonders when
explaining to customers how to use your site, place an order, etc.

c) Tell them what to expect.

Your customers don’t like surprises, especially when ordering. Tell them
when their credit card will be processed, the name of the company that will
appear on their bill (to avoid chargebacks), and the number to call with
questions.

For the best example I know of how to walk customers through the ordering
process, see how it’s done at amazon.com!

d) Less is more.

Whenever possible, I REMOVE links from my Web sites, to give customers
fewer, more targeted choices. Remember: a confused mind will say “No” to
your site, your products and you.

===

4) Referrals = found money.
You already know that referrals are the best, most cost-effective way to
get customers who spend more and complain less, right? Right.

So, you should be doing everything possible to actively encourage your
current customers to refer new ones.

Here’s a quick tip that will send lots of new business your way …

On your Web site’s order form, offer a $10 discount to any customer who
gives you the e-mail addresses of 3 friends for you to contact with info
later.

Customers in the middle of the buying process already have a favorable
impression of your business, so this is an ideal time to ask for referrals.

Does it work?

It helped me triple the number of referrals to my resume writing business
in 2000. It can work for you, too.

===

5) Use bonuses to sweeten the deal and make more sales. Here are 3 kinds:

a) Informational reports.
If you’ve written any articles or copy for your Web site, chances are you
can package as a free report to give to prospects or clients. Make sure you
give it a value (”A $29.95 value, yours FREE”), because it’s human nature
to not appreciate anything without a price tag.

b) Give away what your competitors sell.
Find the lowest-price product or service that most of your competitors try
to sell … and give it away instead. The increased business will make up
for it.

c) Give away ANOTHER freebie after the sale.
This will cut returns dramatically and cement good relations with your
clients. Marlon Sanders does it with his online marketing course. I give
away loads of follow-up advice by email to all my clients. If you use an
autoresponder, it can be done while you sleep.

===

6) Build relationships with potential business partners online.

You already know that you MUST publish an email newsletter, right? Right.

But some sites still don’t get this. They feel they don’t have the time or
the writing ability. This is your opportunity.

Find high-traffic sites in your industry that don’t offer a newsletter, and
say: “I noticed your site doesn’t publish a newsletter. You’re leaving
money on the table by not keeping in touch with your prospects and clients.
I can help. I publish a newsletter that doesn’t compete with your site. If
you put a sign-up form on your site for my newsletter, you’ll build
instant, profitable relationships with your users. And I’ll give you a
permanent spot in my newsletter to run your ad in.”

Who can say “No” to that? But, does it work?

I’m negotiating right now to get one of my newsletters, “Employment
Dispatch,” onto two Web sites with a combined viewership of 100,000 people
per month.

Generating More Website Traffic

If you’re planning a website or need to generate more website traffic, you need to start by thinking strategically about your market. Here’s some tips to help you.
Your starting point should be to look at how people are currently using the web in your market - both competitors and customers. Search engines account for about 80% of all website traffic. Each search is logged and if you know where to look, you can find out the precise search phrases people use to find companies like your own. This includes data about the number of searches by phrase in each of the main engines and details about the number of web pages competing for that phrase.
This kind of research is essential because it gives you an insight into the latent, and possibly unfulfilled, demand for your service. If there are hundreds of people a day already searching for what you offer and very few web pages competing, you’ll be in an excellent position to generate website traffic and revenues as soon as your website is online. You can optimise for those phrases or bid for them in the pay-per-click engines like Google Adwords.
That, unfortunately, is a dream scenario. Whilst there are and always will be discreet niches to be tapped, the vast majority of businesses have competitors, some of whom will be well established online. Generating more website traffic in this scenario is tougher but far from impossible.
Strategically, this stage is about understanding the level of demand and competition in your market. The next stage is to develop the benefits of your product or service so that you can create an irresistible sales proposition. These benefits could include things that are unique to your business or simply be industry standard benefits packaged together and expressed in such a way that they appear unique.
Successful website marketing is all about testing and measuring every aspect of your promotions. The great thing about the web is that there are now freely available performance monitoring tools that allow you to track the number of people responding to an advertisement, email, promotion and so on at the click of a button. The critical point is to build these mechanisms into your marketing before you start. If your mantra is to test and measure, you will succeed - it’s just a matter of time.
Search engines are critical to any website marketing strategy. With 80% of website visits originating from a search engine, you just can’t afford to ignore them, unless your business is called Ebay or Amazon. There are two ways to generate traffic to your website through the search engines - optimisation (SEO) and pay-per-click advertising (PPC).
Pay-per-click allows you to drive people to your site - you pay each time a prospect clicks on your advertisement. Many businesses do very well from PPC because they’ve either learned how to make it work or hired professionals to help them. Tactically, PPC is great because it’s so flexible - you can turn it on and off whenever you like.
While we regard PPC as a tactical tool, we see SEO as critically important to the medium to long term visibility of any website. This is why we research the search engines at such an early stage in any project - by understanding how your market is using the search engines, we can get you a head start on the competition. So we ensure that every site we build is search engine friendly and that our clients have the plans and tools that will enable them to build their profiles in the natural search results of the search engines and generate more targeted traffic to their website.
Other tools that may comprise a complete online marketing solution could include:
business blogs enabling you to communicate dynamically and personally RSS feeds enabling other sites to display your content and link back to you Opt-in email newsletter publishing systems allowing you to control the flow of information to prospects and customers content syndication - distribution of your articles to article directories and ezines e-commerce functionality and database development affiliate marketing joint ventures with other web businesses and last but not least, comprehensive statistics about your site that will enable you to adjust your site and its marketing to improve your return on investment. Marketing, Internet Mortgage Lead Generation

Are you looking for free internet mortgage leads? Are high advertising costs keeping you from effectively marketing your mortgage business? If you answered yes to either one of these questions, you can get free and almost unlimited internet mortgage leads by writing articles.
By writing and submitting your quality mortgage related articles to top internet article directories, you can market your products and services at no charge and create a reliable source of new customers. Read on and Ill cover some key ways you can accomplish this powerful goal.
This is a newly discovered secret for many web savvy mortgage marketers: internet article directories really do work. Best of all, you can submit your material for free.
Look at it this way: the internet is a content hungry monster constantly looking for fresh material. Key search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN frequently visit and spider web sites for fresh information. For many website owners, creating fresh content themselves is nearly impossible. Quite frankly, time and expertise will limit the ability of most website owners to continually update their web pages with new content.
This is where you come in.
As an expert in mortgage loans and real estate, you have the intellectual knowledge that others want. Trouble is, most people cannot afford or are unwilling to pay you for this information.
Instead, they go to the sources where free, informative articles are made available to them: the article directories. Chances are some of your competitors have already caught on and are already submitting their information to article directories.
Savvy authors, just like you, submit helpful, interesting and persuasive articles to these directories. Covering a wide variety of topics, the better articles are frequently picked up by website owners and placed on their sites.
So, what is in it for you? Well, if you play the game right you can include 2 or 3 different and useful back links in each articles resource box that will direct readers to your site.
If someone who manages a high performing site likes an article you wrote and decides to republish it on their site, the result can be hundreds - if not thousands - of free internet mortgage leads for you.
The beauty of article directories is they are free. You can submit your articles at no cost and website owners can take your articles and place them on their sites at no charge to them. The more you write, the more you can gain from this powerful web marketing tool.
To find article directories, simply visit your favorite search engine and search for article directory without the quotes. Here are a few article directories that have been around for awhile and attract quality webmasters:
EzineArticles.com ArticleDashboard.com ArticleSphere.com GoArticles.com ArticleCity.com

Internet Marketing, The Clifinar - Web Marketing Seminars

Introduction

Clifinar is a form of web marketing seminar that has become popular at a web marketing company called Compucall. Clifinar is an example of a portmanteau - a word formed by fusing meanings of two different words. In this case it is Clifton, the name of the web marketing professional who gives the seminars, and the word seminar.

The History of the Seminar

The origins of the seminar can be traced back to an ancient dialectic method of learning called the Socratic Method. In ancient Greece the subjects of investigation tended to be of a metaphysical and moral nature, such as the existence of god and the difference between good and evil. Socrates is often regarded as the father of moral philosophy and ethics as they are understood in the West. The Socratic method basically involved asking a group of questions that revolved around a common theme, followed by an attempt to answer these questions. Often this involved debating different points of view.
The Clifinar basically follows the same concept, in which the esteemed oracle Clifton explains a particular web marketing concept, and Dan offers a counter-argument. These sessions also draw much inspiration from a central concept in Cartesian Philosophy, best described by the classic phrase I debate therefore I am.

Clifinar Topics

The Clifinar covers a range of key search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO) concepts. Topics of recent seminars have included keyword research, keyword research, link building, content building, writing press releases, and the benefits of web 2.0 as a viral marketing tool.

About Clifton

Clifton is a web marketing professional with 10 years of experience in the industry, his vast technical knowledge and hands-on web marketing experience are akin to the bricks and mortar that make up the Clifinar.

Clifinar Web Marketing Seminars with a Difference

The Clifinar seminars are particularly noted for being hands-on. Small groups mean that the sessions are open for questions, and that Clifton can easily interact with all the participants.

Clifinar The Future

Clifinar seminars are currently only available at Compucall web Marketing. However, the near future might see the introduction of the online Clifinar.

Marketing, Work and Preparation Equal Success and Confidence

You have decided to start your own business on the internet. The first question is what do I do? What kind of service do I offer or what product do I sell.
What field are you knowledgable in? What do you have to offer others? Am I qualified to help others?
Most everyone has the knowledge and ability to help others. The problem is that most do not have the confidence to share that knowledge. We question ourselves and the abilities that we possess.
Years ago when I was in the United States military, I learned some valuable lessons about people. The majority of people are content to follow. There is nothing wrong with this and the world needs followers as well as leaders.
The world also needs leaders and the confidence that goes with that role. To be a successful leader, you must have the confidence in your own abilities. And to be successful in the marketing world, you must be a leader.
You must have the confidence that you can help others and have the ability to convey that confidence to them. You must possess the knowledge to allow you to portray this confidence to your clients as well.
If you cannot convey this confidence to your potential customers, you will have a very difficult time being successful in any type business. People come to you for help, you must project a sense of confidence or you have little chance of attaining that success.
A few years back when I was in the advertising business, a client told me one day that I seemed so confident that the ad campaign I has just written would be a rousing success. He asked me how I could be so confident when we had yet to even test the campaign?
My answer to him applies to almost any task or any field. I told him that I was confident because I had spent many hours studying the market that we were targeting. I had also spent many hours looking at other ads, both successful and unsuccesful. I had then spent a lot of time putting together the campaign and when I finished, I went back and spent even more time ensuring that everything was just right.
The key here was preparation. I was totally prepared and felt like I had exhausted every possible means to ensure that the ad campaign was the best that it could possibly be. How could I not be confident.
It reminds me of school. When I spent the time studying, I always felt confident when test day arrived. The times that I did not spend the time studying, the confidence was just not there, no matter how hard I tried to convince myself.
Back in those days, confidence seemed to come because you were driving the fanciest car on campus and everyone looked up to you. Or you were the captain of the football team or the head cheerleader. At that point in life, most looked up to you for the wrong reasons. Well, I am here to tell you that those things mean nothing in the today’s world.
You have the ability to start your own business and turn it into a successful venture. What does it take? You are going to have to have the confidence to pass along to others. How do you acquire this confidence? Well, it does not come because you are good looking, popular or inherited a million dollars. It comes from work and preparation.
Do you have the ability to make it happen? Of course you do. The question is, are you willing to put forth the time and effort that it takes. Success and Confidence take work and preparation.

Internet Marketing, Market Your Site Effectively Through Articles

Try searching for article resources on the internet and there will be hundreds or even thousands of search results. This only means that articles are everywhere on the internet. Why? Because articles are highly beneficial to the websites where they came from, at the same time they are significant to the online surfers.
There are two obvious benefits of articles in web marketing. One is higher site traffic and the other is higher ranking on the search engines. But other than these, there are more benefits that articles can give you and your website. Here are the top 5 benefits:
Display Expertise Online
The articles that you have written present your own expertise on a particular field. If you submit these articles on the article directories, your popularity as an expert will rise. Remember that one way to determine a persons expertise is through his writings. Writing an article will pave the way to your popularity.
More Online Customers If the articles that you have written are relevant to other websites, there is a higher chance that these websites will use your articles as part of their resources. This gives your online business or website the chance to reach out a more number of potential customers. This is very true to articles that are very well written and give out load of information.
Higher Rate of Incoming Links
The articles which you have written and submitted to article directories carry a resource box that tells something about you and your business, at the same time a link back to your website or online business. And you guess it right, one-way incoming links are precious in the eyes of the search engines.
Higher Site Visibility
In writing the articles, remember to include a good number of relevant keywords and keyword phrases. This is to ensure that your article will appear on the search engine result pages or SERPs on different search terms or every time those keywords are entered into the search engines search boxes.
Higher Sales and ROI
Articles can give your website higher sales profit and return on investment (ROI). Though it is true that you will not be paid for the articles that you have written, you will still make a lot of money through it. When your articles are posted on the article directories, more online surfers will be led to your website. In short, you advertise your online business and website for free. And once these online surfers reach your website, there are more chances they will be converted into customers.
Articles are indeed a great help for many aspiring websites. Notice that high ranking websites are actually using this strategy. This only means one thing: the article strategy really works so waste no timestart writing and submitting now!
